Unload : to get rid of an overload, to deposit what weighs you down, to confess, to relieve, to free yourself from harmful energies. UNLOADING. who carries? is a solo conceived as a choreographic, performative, and relational device in which a single body can only exist supported by a community. Starting from the notion of dead weight —affective, symbolic, and physical overload—the work investigates the possibility of sharing the weight to relieve it, displace it, and enchant it.
The piece draws inspiration from a joyful pessimism , stemming from certain Amerindian cosmologies and a Brazilian anthropophagic metaphysics, summoning the "Others" as active partners in this choreography of shared burdens. The title plays on "who carries ?" and "who cares?", affirming vulnerability as a collective condition and a shared responsibility.
Conceived as an open score, the work invites the public to become accomplices, witnesses, or supporters, forming an ephemeral community based on radical trust and generosity, empathy, and co-responsibility. A contemporary ritual to practice “all for one, and one thanks to all.”
