solo choreographic piece

[PORTABLE IMMENSITIES /TINY OCEANS PROJECT]
THE SEA THAT FITS IN THE EYE
HORIZON
The piece investigates "dehumanization" as a choreographic device, articulating image, body and materialities to oscillate between identification and objectification. The physiological, existential and literary imaginary of "hunger" is the thread that sews together the investigation and composition process.
The work was initially motivated by important works of Brazilian and international literature ("A Fome", by Rodolfo Teófilo; "Homens e carangueijos", by Josué de Castro; "Vidas Secas", by Graciliano Ramos; "A Hora da Estrela", by Clarice Lispector; and the short story “A hunger artist”, by Franz Kafka). The work unfolds in reflections about lack as a generator of physical and existential conditions. In this perspective, it is interesting to think about what the body that is in deprivation can, does or knows, in permanent imminence of death and emptiness.
At times tragic, at times abject, at times laughable, during the entire experience, only one word is said, but you almost-almost don't understand what it is.
